Oh no! Pizza rejection...

Last night, I was craving pizza. So on the drive home after work, I called Pizza Nova (our favourite) to place an order for pick up. I give them all of my information...then the phone operator tells me that they have changed the hot peppers. They no longer carry the banana peppers we have always loved but now have some italian style peppers that are a little hotter, and taste different. Oh no! I tell her I'm sorry, but I'll have to cancel my order.
Still craving pizza, I call my second choice, Pizza Hut had a $12 pick up order, medium with 5 toppings. (Otherwise, let's face it, Pizza Hut is expensive) After I give her my info, I ask for the $12 pick up special...she tells me that deal no longer exists! I thanked the woman and I told her I wouldn't be placing my order.
I immediately felt a little depressed. The pizza gods were not with me. So...I picked up a filet-o-fish instead...Now what am I going to do about future pizza cravings? No more Pizza Nova.....:-(

Oh, it stings!

Friday was such a warm day, we decided to eat breakfast outside and enjoy the warmth and sunshine. With all the food, (honey and jam) available...a neighbourhood wasp decided to join us, too. Both Nelson and Garson, sitting on either side of me kept swatting at the wasp to shoo it away. All I could think was, stop bothering the wasp...it'll get angry and sting someone... Then I felt a STING! I instantly swatted at my upper right arm to dislodge the wasp. In 40 years, it was the first time I've been stung...it slowly felt like pins and needles and after some ice felt a little numb. I could literally feel the poison coursing through my arm. At least I didn't have a severe allergic reaction. After a day, it discoloured and swelled. I could feel it's warmth, just pulsing. I applied Benadryl cream and ice. Today, after 3 days, it's finally feeling a little better, but I anticipate it's going to take a little while before it's back to normal.

Good Friends...Good times...

Steve and Gar during a very intense competitive round of Wii MarioCart, Mexican style, Ole!

A few of the gang during our last night. Notice my redness...due to a shot of Jack Daniels:(

Ryan and Gar, determined to enjoy a cigar and a little port on the water...
Unfortunately Nelson preferred to be on stable ground.

Nurit showing off her superior push up skills on her 6th shot of JD

After a ton of trash talking with Nurit about power drinking...
Vivian did not quite make it to her bed, she did make it to the door...

Getting my Sabrina Fix

Sabrina couldn't be any cuter. I got to cuddle and kiss her as much as I wanted, which I have to admit was a lot :) I was able to get some fantastic shots of her. Nurit and I taught her to "Give me 5". It was a very proud moment.

Getting away to the Cottage

After the craziness of WS and Thanksgiving prep, it was wonderful to get away for our planned cottage week. Even though I had seen photos of the cottage on the rental site, it was a lot bigger and fancier then I imagined. The house is right on the edge of a point, giving us 3 sides of lake views. Beautiful. All in all, it was a week of good sleep, good food, all my TV show premieres watched on a big screen, and of course good friends and lots of laughter. I was a little sad to come back to reality, although, it was nice to sleep in my own bed again.

Welcome Marley Claire Lee-Begonia!

Di had her baby! After fighting through traffic for over an hour on the Gardiner, I made it to Mount Sinai 15 min before the end of visiting hours, but I made it. I even stayed a little longer. Baby Marley was born Sept 14th at 10:57pm, weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces. She's perfect with very long fingers and legs, lots of hair. Di seems good. Tired but relieved that Marley is out. Now the real adventure begins. The Begonia family and both grandmas are a very happy bunch.

Spending the day with Pip, Rena and Sabrina.

Hanging out with Grandma

Entertaining mommy and Aunt Carol at Lunch

Pippette is back in town. She's been here since Monday night but between me working and her trying to help her mom and brother get his new house in Newmarket organized, we haven't had a chance to get together.

We had lunch around the corner from the house at an All you can eat Japanese/Sushi place. The food was okay, but the interesting part was Pippette ran into a waiter who she worked with years ago when she was bartending at the Brix. Too coincidental. Anyway, it was just nice to get together and talk/chat/catch up. Sabrina was too cute. She's grown a bit, she has more hair...and she is way more vocal and interactive. I totally had my baby fix. Playing and entertaining and interacting with her all day was awesome. Baby smell, smiles, laughs, tickles, she was generally in a great mood all day. I got a few great shots and a super cute video. Enjoy. She's so sweet, she can make your teeth ache. :)

Garson's 50th! (Coincidentally mine too!)

No...it's not my 50th birthday...I AM NOT THAT OLD!
It's just my 50th blog.
Anyway, friday night we all gathered at Bangkok Garden on Elm Street to help Garson celebrate his big 50.
Garson is one of the most youthful, young at heart, well preserved man I've ever met.
It's almost silly to think of him as fifty...although Vivian, his wife, let slip something very telling.
He doesn't read the birthday cards until he gets home because he actually needs reading glasses and refuses to carry them. (He thinks they'll make him look old! :-P)

The food was very good. I had the thai springrolls, a lemon shrimp soup and the pad thai. The curry dishes were good too.

Pip and Steve are bringing our gift for Gar, so I gave him the usual jelly candy/swedish berries/wine gums and a framed/signed photo of Lindsey Wagner (of Bionic Woman fame) that I brought back from Comic-Con just for him. Happy Birthday Gar! Keep on Rockin!
